About
About Pravitel
Pravitel is a small, independent games desk. We publish explanatory articles about how games actually work — their mechanics, their costs and their requirements — for people deciding whether to spend their evening on one.
What we publish
Not news, and not reviews with a score at the bottom. What we write is closer to a manual written by somebody who has read the manual: what a game is asking of you, what it will cost, what it needs from your hardware, and what will annoy you about it. If a game has a drawback that would put a reasonable person off, our job is to put it in the article, not to leave it out.
Right now the desk is focused on Enlisted, the squad-based World War II shooter. The main explainer is here, and the shorter practical pieces are in the guides section.
Who we are
Richard Hill is the editor of Pravitel and its director of publication. He is responsible for every article on the site, decides what is published, and is the person to write to if something here is wrong. Contact: info@pravitel.online.
The site is published by Aurora Casket Company s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic under company number 19208839, with its registered office at Bílkova 855/19, Staré Město, 110 00 Praha 1. Full details, including the VAT number, are in the legal notice.
How we are paid
By advertising, specifically affiliate commission. If you follow a link we have marked as a partner link and then sign up with the advertiser, we are paid a commission. It costs you nothing extra. We take no money from readers and we run no display ads.
That arrangement creates an obvious incentive to be positive, and the only useful answer is a written rule we can be held to. The editorial policy is that rule: no advertiser sees copy before publication, no advertiser can have criticism removed, and we publish no invented testimonials, ratings, statistics or urgency. If you ever find us breaking it, write to the editor and we will correct it in public.
What we know about you
Essentially nothing. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads nothing from a third-party server and has no contact form. The only record of your visit is the web server’s access log, which is deleted after 14 days. The cookie policy shows you how to verify all of that in your own browser.
Getting in touch
By email at info@pravitel.online, or by post to the address on the contact page. Corrections are especially welcome, and are logged in public on the corrections page.
